Smoothie Saturday: Pear Spinach Ginger

Pear Spinach Ginger Smoothie

Finally, a use for the rest of that Costco container of pears I got. Don’t get me wrong, pears are great, but I’ve done the math and I can’t eat them all for lunch before they spoil. Fortunately, this tangy and refreshing smoothie makes great use of them.

This recipe is modified from The Spruce Eats’ Green Pear Smoothie.

The Recipe

Serves 2

To Blend:

  • 1 pear
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 1/2 cup spinach
  • 1/4 cup almond or your favorite non-dairy milk
  • 2-4 slices of fresh ginger (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder
  • 1 cup ice
  • Filtered water so that it blends

To Top:

  • Granola (I used The Blue Zone Kitchen’s Chai-Spiced Granola)
  • Raspberries
  • Local bee pollen

Blend the blendables and top with toppings. A unique way to start your day!
