“Robinhood Snacks” is a 15 minute daily news podcast focused around 3 stories and how they may impact a company’s stock. The podcast is produced by Robinhood, the millennial-focused trading platform famous for its $0 fees and mobile-first focus.
What I Liked
- Stories are interesting and unlikely to be ones you might find scrolling through the WSJ homepage.
- The market focus means each story leaves you with a potential action item.
What I Didn’t
- The tone is very millennial-focused. While I appreciate concepts being broken down, I found their use of slang irritating.
- Because it focuses on three specific stories, it does not give you a sufficient overview to prepare you for the day.
Overall
If you have always wanted to hear a Soundcloud rapper’s rendition of the legalese around “past performance may not be indicative of future results,” then here is your chance. Essentially, this podcast is “Call Her Daddy” but for Finance Bros. If that speaks to you, then definitely check it out. I prefer news sources focused on clearly and succinctly providing quality information without all the millennial fluff.
